Painting is a lovely way to spend your time if you are passionate about it. There are many styles of painting, but all require some sort of medium or paint for your canvas. A simple run-of-the-mill watercolor has liquid as its media!

There are three main colors in a classic white hibiscus (apart from the very outside layer which may be slightly lighter). These include red, yellow, and purple. The first two make up most of the petal, while the third makes up the center part.
In this article we will go over how to create the perfect pink/red acrylic hibiscus using these three primary colors.
Plan your composition
A hibiscus flower is one of the most popular colors for painting acrylic flowers. Because there are so many shades in this color, it can be tricky deciding which ones to use in your design!
The hardest part about painting a hibiscus is choosing what palette you will use. You do not have to use all of these materials in your work, but using at least two or three will help create beautiful designs.
General tips: remember that the palettes you use does not matter as much as how you apply them in your paintings. For instance, if you want to add some strong red into your artwork, then instead of just adding pure red paint onto your canvas, mix it with another hue first.
This way, you will have more control over how much red you put into your painting! The same goes for other colors in the palette; try mixing them together first before applying them directly onto the canvas.
Another tip is to experiment with vertical and horizontal placement of colors in your painting. It may take time to get familiar with the shape and position of each hue, but once you do, you will achieve more interesting results.
Make a quick, rough sketch
Before you start painting your hibiscus flower, you will need to make a quick, rough sketch of it. This can be done quickly using a pencil as well as or instead of pen and paper!
The hardest part about painting flowers is making them look natural. Creating a drawing of the plant first will help give yours more shape and texture. You do not have to include every petal but they must all match otherwise it will become confusing.
After the sketch is complete, you can now go back and add finer details such as individual petals and colors.
Do a dry-brush practice painting
While most people use acrylics for painting, there is an alternative way to use them. This method is called wet-brushing or deliberate brush washing. With this technique, you can create beautiful painted effects by using liquid acrylic as your paint source and brushing it against a surface, then wiping the surface clean to show its texture.
Wet-brushing was popularized in Japan and has since spread around the world. Artists have made incredible art using this technique!
There are several benefits of doing this. One is that you do not need to worry about running out of paint because you can always add more liquid acrylic onto the brush and wash it off later. Another is that you do not have to worry about dried brushes because you can start over with no leftover materials.
The third and arguably biggest benefit is how many different looks and textures you can achieve from one piece of hibiscus flower acrylic artwork.
Apply acrylics in layers
One of the most difficult colors to paint is hibiscus! It can be tricky to get those bright, beautiful shades that every artist strives for. However, there are some tricks you can use when painting this flower. First, apply your primer or undercoat layer very carefully so that it does not pick up any dirt or oils from your hands while drying.
Next, choose a light source to help set the correct balance of color. A direct sun light will create darker colors whereas indirect sunlight creates lighter ones.
Once both these steps have been completed, then you can start applying layers of brighter shades of pink all over the petal. Use a small brush to avoid dragging the pigment down as the brush touches the surface. Continue doing this until the whole leaf is painted and dried!

Use dark colors first
For this project, you will need one half-circle brush, one square bristle brush, and one large fluffy brush. The half circle brush is for the petal edge of the hibiscus flower, the square bristles are to mix in some darker color into the leaf area, and the fluffy brush is for blending out any edges that may look too sharp.
Start by mixing your paint with a few drops of distilled water to make it more fluid. Now using the half circle brush, apply thin lines all around the outside edge of the petals. Leave a gap between each line to show off the shape of the petal.
Once you have covered the whole flower, switch over to the larger square brush and begin painting in the areas of the leaves. Make sure to blend down the sides to create a natural looking curve.
Now take your most dominant color (in this case red) and use it as a light source. As you draw closer to the center of the leaf, the hue becomes richer and denser.
Use bright colors second
The hibiscus flower is one of the most popular floral patterns in nature! It comes in many different shapes and sizes, with some even considered symbolic.
The petals of the hibiscus flower can be found anywhere from solid shades of pink to almost all white with very faint touches of other vibrant colors such as red or yellow.
Overall, there are three major types of hibiscus flowers: double, rose, and tiger. Each type has its own distinct shape and pattern which makes painting them fun!
Given that they’re so pretty, it makes sense to put them into your artwork! While most people paint the roses first due to their ease, I recommend starting with the tiger leaves before moving onto the rest of the plant.
That way you get to practice creating really beautiful foliage before working on the blossoms.
Use texture
For how to paint a habiscus flower acrylic, there are several textures you can use. You do not have to use all of them, but it is helpful to be aware of them!
One of the main things that make this flower look beautiful is the way the petals blend into each other.
The best way to achieve this is by using different types of textures in your painting. There are many ways to add texture to your paintings; some of the most common being brushstrokes, leaves, flowers, or even sand.
You can also mix up the colors of the flower to create more design effect. By mixing slightly darker shades with lighter ones, you produce an interesting pattern.
To paint the hibiscus florist, start with a base coat of bright red paint. Then, take one of the petal pieces and apply some vertical lines across the surface. Create as many lines as possible until the paper becomes too thin and breaks.
Once the break happens, cut off the rest of the layer and begin again. This process will help give the painted piece a nice veing pattern. Repeat for every petal section.
Now, go back over the whole canvas and slowly pour in layers of white paint. As you pour, drag your finger through the liquid, creating little streaks and patterns.
This technique works particularly well if you are trying to match the intensity of the original color.
Finish with sealant
After you have painted your hibiscus, the next step is to let it dry! This can take anywhere from one hour all the way up to days depending on the size of the flower and how fast you work.
Once it has dried, it is time to apply a protective coat or sealer. A good quality primer surface treatment product will do this for you. Simply spread enough on each side of the painting and then buff off the excess until it feels smooth.
You want to make sure that you don’t overdo it when applying the primer as this could result in peeling of the paint later on. Let the primer sit for at least an hour before washing away any dirt or oils.
